Carbon Steel Wire

Carbon steel wire is an iron-based material with carbon as the main alloying element. It is divided into three categories according to the carbon content: low carbon (C≤0.25%), medium carbon (0.25%-0.60%) and high carbon (C≥0.60%). Low carbon steel wire has good plasticity and is mostly used for building binding; medium carbon steel wire has moderate strength and is suitable for manufacturing mechanical parts; high carbon steel wire has high hardness and is often used for springs, wire ropes, etc. Its advantages are low cost, easy processing and high strength. By adjusting the carbon content and heat treatment process, it can meet the diverse needs from civilian light load to industrial heavy load.
